Ajax Amsterdam wide-man Hakim Ziyech has hinted at the possibility of remaining at the club beyond the current season. In light of rumours linking him to various European clubs, the Moroccan has come out saying that he is “very picky”.
In sparkling form this season, Ziyech has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United. However, the player himself did not give much traction to these rumours. Speaking to Inside Ajax (sourced via The Mirror), the Moroccan international did not reject the possibility of continuing with the Dutch giants:
“Anything is possible.”
“I am always someone who is very picky and there must be a club that I want to trade in for Ajax. That doesn’t just happen.”
Ziyech has excelled this season under Erik ten Hag’s tutelage as Ajax have made a mockery of Champions League favourites Real Madrid and Juventus in successive rounds. The Dutch giants are on course for a historic treble and face Tottenham Hotspur in their Champions League semi-final.
Ziyech, who joined Ajax from FC Twente in 2016, has been prolific for de Godenzonen scoring 19 goals and providing 20 assists so far.
