Barcelona’s official Twitter handle couldn’t resist having a pop at Manchester United after their team easily dispatched the English side 3-0 at the Nou Camp.
Lionel Messi was on target twice in quick succession for the home side, in the 16th and 20th minute, to put Barcelona 2-0 up and effectively end the tie as a contest as Manchester United came to Nou Camp searching for yet another PSG-like performance.
The first goal came as a result of Ashley Young dithering on the ball and giving it away to Messi, who swept past a couple of Manchester United defenders before slotting home into the bottom corner.
The second goal was purely down to David de Gea’s error as he allowed a tame right footed shot from Messi to creep in after he appeared to have it well covered.

The rout was completed in the second half when Philippe Coutinho unfurled a screamer from nearly 30 yards into the top corner past the outstretched hands of de Gea, sparking off the celebrations at the Nou Camp.
The 4-0 aggregate defeat was the heaviest suffered by Manchester United in their illustrious European history, and also marked the first time since October of 1999 that the club has lost 4 away games in a row.
To rub in the defeat, the Barcelona official twitter handle put out a post parodying the Manchester United fan chant ‘Ole’s at the wheel’, with ‘Messi at the wheel.’
