Table toppers Ceres Negros will travel to the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta to face Indonesia champions Persija Jakarta in AFC Cup 2019 on Tuesday.

Filipino club Ceres have had a great start to their continental competition and are top of Group G with nine points from four games while their opponents Persija are third having collected only four points from three matches.

And their Spanish defender Manuel Herrera, popularly known as Super, is looking ahead to facing the Kemayoran Tigers in their den that is the 77,000-plus seater Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

“It will be a very big game. They are the best team in Indonesia and we are the best team in the Philippines. You can see the team’s performances in their domestic leagues last year, so, for sure, it will be a very big game,” the centre-back told

Ceres had got the better of Persija on Matchday 3 as Bienvenido Maranon’s ninth-minute goal turned out to be the difference between the two sides at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod.

However, Super knows the atmosphere in Jakarta wouldn’t be anything like the one they experienced at Panaad. “I know what it’s like playing in a big stadium in front of a big crowd,” said the 27-year-old Real Betis youth product.

“Five years ago, [with CF Villanovense] I played against Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the Spanish Cup with around 70 to 80,000 fans present. It’s an unbelievable experience to take part in a match like this,” he reminisced.

“You can breathe real football – it’s a crazy feeling. Playing in front of so many fans, you get so excited. So, for sure, Tuesday will be fun,” he added.
