On Matchday 4 of this week in the ongoing AFC Cup 2019, Group E member Chennaiyin FC will take on Manang Marshyangdi.
The hosts, Chennaiyin FC will look to present tough competition for their guests, Nepal-based Manang Marshyangdi. For the former, it is an opportunity for resurgence as they will look to pick their first win in the ongoing tournament.
Chennaiyin FC coach John Gregory feels his team is prepared to take on Manang Marshyangdi. Talking about the mindset of his team ahead of the game, he said, “The AFC cup has inspired us because of the stature it holds and we’re very proud to represent our city Chennai and the country. The tournament has given us a good opportunity to restore some pride after a disappointing domestic season.”
We are looking forward to the match, everybody is in good condition physically and emotionally. We have a tough game tomorrow night, but we’re ready”, he added.
Manang Marshyangdi, on the other hand, will look to create more opportunities for themselves and ware likely to capitalise on them early in the game, Their head-coach, Chirring Gurung said, “We came here to get the three points and all players are ready for the win. We are well prepared for the game and I hope we win tomorrow”.
“We played well (in our first match) but did not utilise our opportunities. We looked at our mistakes and have prepared to avoid repeating them tomorrow”, he added in hope to revive themselves from the last spot of the group table.
When to watch?
The match between Chennaiyin FC and Manang Marshyangdi will take place on April 17, and kicks-off by 10:00 PM SGT.
The Arena in Gujrat will play host to the game.
