Melbourne Victory are in desperate need of a win in the AFC Champions League 2019 as they host Guangzhou Evergrande at the AAMI Park in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Melbourne are yet to record a point in the AFC Champions League this season and have conceded nine goals from the first three matches in Group F. As a result, they unsurprisingly find themselves bottom of the group with another set of matches beginning on Tuesday.
And unfortunately for the A-League side, they will have to deal with Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou who have hit a purple patch in the ACL this season so far. The Chinese club have won two and lost one in their first three games and are top of the group with six points.
And the Australians will know it won’t be an easy task to keep Guangzhou quiet on Tuesday. Will it be another thrashing for the Victory in the AFC Champions League or can the hosts spring a surprise and draw some blood against the Chinese giants? Let’s find out.
